Victorville Daily Press: Ranch Fire impacts protected wildlife habitat near Apple Valley

The Mojave Desert Land Trust announced that the Ranch Fire near Apple Valley, which ignited on Monday, has impacted a quarter of its 595-acre protected Rock Springs Ranch nature preserve.

As of Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Ranch Fire had burned 4,205 acres and was 10% contained, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was first reported at about 1:35 p.m. in the area of Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Trail, just south of Apple Valley, according to fire officials.
