In addition to the scholarships listed below, websites like EnvironmentalScience.org or PathwaysToScience.org can also be a useful tool when looking for more information on college scholarship opportunities. 

Scholarships:  

Microsoft Scholarship Program

  • Award size varies.

  • You must be enrolled full time in a bachelor’s program in the US, Mexico, or Canada.  

  • Demonstrate and maintain a 3.0 grade point minimum (of a 4.0 scale). 

  • Show satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline.  

Edison International

  • $50,000 STEM college scholarships for high school seniors

  • You must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA with plans to pursue a STEM degree and show financial need.  

  • Top 50 Applicants will be required to send in a short video. 

  • Live within the SCE service territory.  

  • Dependents of Edison International and SCE employees or retirees are not eligible.

League of United Latin American Citizens-LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF) 

  • National Scholastic Achievement Awards ($2,000): You must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.  

  • Honors Awards ($500 to $2,000): You must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. 

  • General Awards ($250 to $1,000): Grades and academic performance will serve as indicators of potential; however, an emphasis may be placed on the individual’s motivation, sincerity, and community involvement.

Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Awards  

  • Award size varies.

  • You must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA of a 4.0 scale.  

  • Must enroll at an accredited higher education institution. 

  • Be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, and Philippines).  

  • If selected, attendance to regional awards ceremony is mandatory and travel is at the expense of the recipient. 

  • Be a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under the DACA.

Great Minds in STEM Scholarship   

  • Awards of $500-$10,000

  • You must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA of a 4.0 scale.  

  • Must enroll at an accredited higher education institution in a STEM field. 

  • Be of Hispanic heritage.  

  • Be a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under the DACA. 

NOAA: EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship Program 

  • Awards of up to $45,000.

  • You must be a college sophomore entering your junior year with a minimum 3.2 GPA of a 4.0 scale.  

  • Must enroll at an accredited MSI higher education institution in the U.S. or U.S. Territory. 

  • Be majoring in a field of study related to NOAA’s mission and goals 

  • Be a U.S. national or U.S. citizen.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund  

  • Awards from $500 to $5,000.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA for high school students and a 2.5 GPA for college students, on a 4.0 scale.  

  • Must be or plan to be enrolled full time at an accredited, non-for profit, higher education institution  

  • Be of Hispanic heritage 

  • Be a U.S. national, U.S. citizen, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA).

American Meteorological Society Scholarships

  • Awards of $6,000.

  • You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA of a 4.0 scale.  

  • Be majoring in a field of study related to atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. 

  • Be a U.S. permanent resident or U.S. citizen.

Annie’s Sustainable Agriculture Scholarships

  • Award size varies.

  • You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA of a 4.0 scale.  

  • Must be a full-time student at an accredited two- or four-year college. 

  • Be majoring in a field of study related to regenerative agriculture. 

  • Be a U.S. permanent resident or U.S. citizen.

Black Students in STEM Scholarships
