NEA Big Read-Reading The Landscape Event

September 14 @ 10:30 am 1:00 pm

The Mojave Desert Land Trust’s Reading the Landscape
(RTL) workshop will introduce participants to ways of
responsibly creating art in a desert environment and to
preserve its ecological and landscape values for future
generations. RTL is a set of guidelings created by the
Land Trust to help artists make informed decision about
enganging with our desert lands and its delicate ecosystems
during their creative process. Armed with this knowledge,
participants will be invited to put these conventions into
practice.

Reading the Landscape is a partner program of the NEA BIG READ Morongo Basin. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.

MDLT welcomes responsible, non-motorized use of our lands, such as hiking. If you have an interest in holding an organized event on MDLT land which charges participants a fee, which would have a large number of participants, or which requires special accommodations, equipment or supplies, a Special Use Permit may be required. The permit allows us to ensure that our lands are treated respectfully and that we are able to keep them in good condition for the future enjoyment of all.
