Fall Native Plant and Salvage Sale

October 8 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Mojave Desert Land Trust’s Fall Native Plant and Salvage Sale will be taking place Saturday, October 8 from 9am-1pm.

Over 50 native, hard-to-find species will be available, including smoke tree, jojoba, milkweed, and apricot mallow. All plants are grown in our nursery in Joshua Tree. The complete list of plants is available here

MDLT will also be holding a final salvage sale. An array of salvage has been collected from MDLT properties throughout the California desert for use in craft projects and eclectic yard art.

During the sale, visitors will be able to learn about MDLT’s land acquisition, stewardship, and philanthropic programs, and find out how they can support conservation work through volunteering.

MDLT has prepared an FAQ on how to purchase plants, a planting guide and native plant guidelines that can be downloaded.

All plants were grown from locally collected seed at the Mojave Desert Land Trust’s nursery in Joshua Tree.

Things to know before shopping:

  • The sales are very popular with visitors lining up an hour before the doors open. Visitors are encouraged to come early to avoid disappointment.
  • Please note that only service animals are allowed.
  • Please be able to load your plants without assistance from MDLT staff.
  • We do not accept returns or exchanges once plant material has left the premises.
  • Seeds will also be available for purchase.
  • Read our FAQ for more information.

MDLT welcomes responsible, non-motorized use of our lands, such as hiking. If you have an interest in holding an organized event on MDLT land which charges participants a fee, which would have a large number of participants, or which requires special accommodations, equipment or supplies, a Special Use Permit may be required. The permit allows us to ensure that our lands are treated respectfully and that we are able to keep them in good condition for the future enjoyment of all.
